Hi there again people!
Okay, project finished, uploading it to Moodle, everything works fine, but it's taking the client too long to open. The published file is over 67000kb, with pictures, 3 videos (biggest video is 33,000kb), every slide has audio, and several quiz slides are in between. We have determined it takes every computer different amounts of time to open the file, ranging from 40 seconds to 1 1/2 minutes. The client doesn't want it to take more than 30 seconds though (he would prefer much less).
We upload the published swf file to Moodle and add all the containing files to limelight.
What I have tried to decrease the file size:
slide properties: made sure it's low (8-bit)
adjusted jpeg and png quality
adjusted video quality
adjusted audio as much as I could
decreased the quality of the entire swf to low
deleted all unused library objects
turned off Adobe Connect Metadata (it was never clicked anyways)
In addition to that I decreased the canvas size from 1024x768 to 819x614 (and even much more to below 300 just to figure it out... but it didn't do much, only a few seconds, but not much to satisfy)
I have read about some streaming options maybe? Maybe Moodle isn't the right server? Do you have any ideas?
And please keep in mind that I'm not a streaming pro, please keep the language simple so I understand your smart brains... :-)
Thanks so much everyone, I hope one day I'm going to be good enought to give someone else advice - until then I hope this helps someone else...
Thanks so much!!
Nat
