How to collect info from another Captivate project?

Hi

I am using Captivate 6 as part of Tech Comm Suite 4 suite.

I am launching a course, say "parent course", which has two buttons on the 3rd slide (initial two slides are some help-related info). The user has to click one of these buttons to choose his role and he will be taken to a course, say "child course", relevant to his role. This role-specific course is a new Captivate SWF file that opens in the same window as that of the parent course.

Now the problem I am having is, in this child course, I want to have a button/ link which the user can click to come back to the 3rd slide of the parent course and probably select another role if he wants to. Is that possible? Can we collect the data, say last visited slide info or some data from the project info from the child course and pass it back to the parent course? I am thinking if we can do that, I can validate that info on entering the parent course and jump to slide 3.

This course is hosted on LMS. Can I play around SCO identifier / Course identifier to get this?

I am calling a new SWF for the child course because I need this course to have its own TOC. Here again, I would have preferred to keep both the child course(s) and parent course in a single Captivate file, but I could not find a way to have separate TOC for each child course. (Parent course doesn't need a TOC.) Is this actually possible?
