I have a dilemma. My client wants the following for a compliance course created in Captivate:
- Playbar including forward and backward buttons and the progress bar
- Learners must view all slides and listen to all audio on every slide (i.e. cannot skip slides or fast forward through slides)
- Learners can go back from a quiz and view the content or previous questions again
I know there is a philosophical discussion here, and I'm not saying I agree that forcing learners to view all slides and listen to all audio is the appropriate approach (I have had this discussion with my client). However, this is what my client ultimately wants for this course, and I need to achieve it. It would be easy enough just to remove the forward buttons and progress bar from the playbar, but then the problem is the quiz. If learners go back to view previous slides, they have no way to move forward to subsequent questions without the forward button or progress bar. Currently, the quiz slides only have submit and back buttons.
Is there someway to lock specific components of the playbar and then unlock them for the quiz? It would be perfect just to lock the forward button and progress bar and then unlock them for the quiz. My other thought was to remove the playbar and just include a continue button on the quiz slides, but I don't want the learners to be able to skip questions and this doesn't actually meet the client's requirements of keeping the playbar.
Btw, I am using Captivate 7.
I would appreciate any help or insight! Thank you!
