How can I turn off the 'back' button without affecting the other navigation controls?

My course contains a quiz with one attempt. Scattered throughout the quiz are video slides with overview information that introduce a new section of the quiz. The client requires that the navigation controls be visible for all slides except the quiz questions themselves. The problem this presents is that when the user views a video slide between quiz questions the playbar is visible. So if the user clicks the 'back' button, they jump back to the preceeding quiz slide and are inevitably "stuck." They only have 1 attempt at the quiz question so they cannot answer it again to move forward, and the navigation is turned off on the quiz question slide so they can't navigate forward or backward. I have suggested turning the navigation control off for the video slides between the quiz questions; however, the client wants a consistent "look and feel" between these slides and the other video slides in the course. Is there an advanced action I can use to turn off ONLY the 'back' button for specific slides rather than turning off the entire navigation control? Or any other work around?
