Hi everyone,
I'm new to using Captivate as part of Technical Communication Suite. What I'm trying to do is create an operator instruction video that we can use as part of the training for operators at clients we sell our machines to.
Reason why I like to use Captivate is mainly the slide approach. This gives me the possibility to leverage one and the same source to produce leveraged material depending on machine specs in different projects by showing/hiding different slides and adding speech on a slide basis rather than to the full movie. I was already given the advice to use Moviemaker instead, but than I loose the options I mentioned earlier on.
Some slides only contain text instructions or pictures, but in some of them I'm embedding imported videos that show for example a machine in action.
Everything works fine until I produce the video file in which all slides come together and try to play it. Wherever a video file was inserted, the image blocks for a couple of seconds and I get the "loading" symbol before the video continues playing. In some cases the videos are also slightly distorted. Of course this is not something I can go to a client with, so would appreciate any tips on how to get this solved. I already tried out several solutions I found here and there on the web, but nothing works for me.
Some additional info:
- all embedded material is located on my C:/
- inserted videos are either MP4 or FLV and are embedded as "event videos" type "progressive download"
- I publish to MP4
If you need any further details, feel free to ask.
thanks in advance.
