When I try to open Illustrator CS6 I get told to renew my licence to Illustrator CC and CS6 won't open

I tried CC for a month and realised I don't need (and cannot afford it) so I cancelled my subs but Adobe on my Mac has decided I am still in CC when I try to open CS6

So how do I get CS6 to open again?

I have uninstalled the CC version, removed CS6 from the dock and replaced it with a new alias.

What else can I do?

Thx for any help

Debug shows a blank window

I'm trying to do some troubleshooting for an HTML5 SCORM file I created in Captivate when it's uploaded into Cornerstone OnDemand, but I'm having a problem with getting the debug to work. I've enabled the debug options in scormdriver.js file after I've published the file so blnDebug=true and SHOW_DEBUG_ON_LAUNCH=true, and while a window does appear when I launch the file the pop-up window is blank.

I've tested this in SCORM Cloud and in Cornerstone, but it's not working in either system. I also inquired of the problem with SCORM Cloud and they looked at the file and they're seeing that it's making the right calls and should be loading the debug but they're also unsure about why it's not displaying anything. If you look at the code for the pop-up window when it appears it just has an opening and closing head and body tags but nothing else.

I also went back to Captivate version 7 and the debug doesn't work when publishing an HTML5 file in this version either. Any ideas or does anyone know what needs to be fixed?

Does anyone know how to make the new play arrow that appears when you publish a lesson accessible with the tab key?

Captivate 9 Rollover Smart-Shape not disappearing when they should

These are smart-shapes (the black rectangles) that are set up to show a box of text when the user rolls a cursor over them, then disappear once their cursor has moved off and over another area. Unfortunately they are not disappearing when I move the cursor over to the next smart-shape. Any ideas how to fix this?

Colors in quiz question master slides

I'm building a template based on my company's color and branding, which is primarily royal blue. Most of the elements are working fine, but I'm hitting one sticking point.

Since the background of the slide is royal blue, I'm using white for the text. When I'm creating a quiz question, though, I run int a problem. In the MCQ,T/F,FIB,Sequence question type, I've set the font color for multiple-choice questions to white. This works as intended. However, when I test a fill in the blank or a short answer question. the text entered into the (white) text area is so light as to be unreadable.

If I go into the master and try to change the color for the fill in the blank answer style, it then reverts the style in the multiple choice/true-false answers.

I'd like to accomplish the following:

  • Answers in multiple choice/t-f questions in white text
  • Text entered into the text boxes in FITB or short answers to be in a dark text, -OR- being able to change the color of the text boxes.

Is this doable?

Do an action using the state of an object on Captivate

Good Morning everyone,

I'm trying to create an action based on the status of an object: for example "IF the status of this object is A, then do this action". Do anyone know how (and if) is it possible to do this? I'm trying with conditional actions, but I don't know how to indicate the object status in the IF panel.

Thank you for the help

Send comments to suspend_data

I had previously got this working on a different LMS however I am now using Cornerstone On Demand and am limited by what SCORM values I can use in reports. Previously I had sent a custom text variable containing user feedback from within the module, this went to the cmi.comments field which could then be pulled off and analysed in a report.

Instead I am left now with only the suspend_data option. I am currently trying to use javascript like this to pass the variable -

SCORM_CallLMSSetValue("cmi.suspend_data","/"+window.cpAPIInterface.getVariableValue("Feedb ack_Comments"));

In this example "Feedback_Comments" is the name of the variable.

This exact code worked with cmi.comments but doesn't work with suspend_data, am I missing something obvious? Or is it not possible to pass variables to suspend_data in the same way?

Thanks in advance,

Event Video on Mobile

Has anyone experienced issues with event videos displaying on an iPad for a course published to an LMS? I encode all videos as MP4 through Adobe Media Encoder. For some reason, some videos display and play perfectly, while others won't even show up on the slide (much less play). The video object is set to display for the whole slide, so I don't believe it's a timeline issue, and they are not set to Auto Play.

I can upload the course to SCORM Cloud, start it through Chrome or Safari on an iPad, and the videos display properly. However, when I load the course to the LMS and it's loaded via the LMS app (SumTotal), I encounter the issue I described above. SumTotal support really isn't much help, so I figured I would check on this side to see if anyone has encountered the same kind of issue. I'll add that the courses are downloaded to be taken offline via the SumTotal app.

The baffling part is that all the videos are encoded the same way through Media Encoder.

I'm using Captivate 2019.

Backward movement in quiz slides

I have a two-part question about backwards movement in quizzes with Captivate 2019 (I'm using 11.0.0.243, if that helps):

Part 1) My client would like to allow backwards movement in quizzes, so I've checked that box in preferences and added the back button. However, if a learner clicks back, then the answer options and submit button in the previously answered question are locked. Infinite attempts is selected! So, the learner is then completely stranded: they can't re-answer the previously answered question or advance to the next. Any suggestions?

Part 2) If a learner answers a question correctly, they get a message that says "That answer is correct! Click anywhere to continue." However, if the learner clicks on the Back button, the screen advances to the next slide instead going back to the previous one. Help?

I'm evaluating Captivate to see if it'll meet our needs (or at least trying to).  I installed it on a new VM (using Parallels) so I'm starting from a clean slate.

Installation went fine, but program will not launch.  Here are the error details.

VR headsets for Macbook/iPhone

Hello, I have Adobe Captivate 2019, a new Macbook Air, and an iPhone 5. I'd love to start showcasing my VR e-learning lessons on a VR headset. I see on your website that you only recommend Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream. However, those require Android/Galaxy. Could you tell me what VR headset you recommend given that I have a Macbook/iphone? I'd like to make sure it has peripheral vision too. Thank you!

Captivate 9 project not loading for HTML5

We're experiencing some weird behavior that we've not experienced before.  We have a Captivate 9 project where the designer has copied some content from previous version of Captivate.  When it is published it will play as a .swf but won't load or play as an HTML5 project.  I've tested this in Firefox, Edge and IE.  We don't use Chrome here.  When another developer tried publishing it again he noticed during publishing when he looked at the Task Manager window it was switching back and forth showing Captivate 6 and then Captivate 8 over and over.  We've not had any problems previously like this.

Any Ideas?

Slide Overlay iOS

I am using the trial version of Captivate 2019 and have inserted an interactive video (youtube). Every time I try to do a slide overlay the video doesn't load in iOS. I see a black screen with a white play button that doesn't work and behind that I can see a loading circle spinning. I read somewhere that you can't have an overlay at 0 seconds for iOS so I made the overlay appear at 4 seconds. Still doesn't work. I even tried just inserting the interactive video without a slide overlay and that didn't work either. Is this a bug other people have found or is it more likely that I'm doing something incorrectly?

This has been asked before but I am hoping there is more information. The product says it is viable for IE 9 or newer for 360 lessons, but it doesn't seem to be the experience of users. Has ANYONE been able to get this to work.

Please do not suggest another browser. Client specifications (for many users) is IE9 and up.

Our configuration management person was just wondering if one day a .cptx were to get lost from a project that had been published as an HTML5 or .swf project was there a way to reverse it back and create a .cptx?

Trouble with Creation of Working SCORM File

Help...I am having challenges publishing a Captivate file into SCORM 1.2. The course is created from a PPT slide show. We have recorded audio to 5 slides and imported video into 2 slides, There are also 3 drag and drop exercises  in the training, as well. Everything appears to be working appropriately in the Captivate Preview mode, but when I publish to SCORM the course will not load. I tried to test the SCORM package in SCORM cloud and it won't load there either. When I originally tried to publish the course I received errors that HTML5 did not support some of the assets. Those assets were the glow feature I had on the drag option. I removed that feature from my drap options and published. Still no success. Any thoughts?

Video Layout in Fluid Boxes

I have a course with fluid boxes so it can be viewed on a desktop or Galaxy S8. I have one slide that is not set-up with fluid boxes that has a video and it currently shows it in portrait view (see image below). Is there an Advanced Action--or some other way--for the browser to tell the course to change the video to landscape mode?

Because I'm behind a firewall and the IP address is constantly changing, I can't use the Live Preview on a Device to know if this is a dumb question.

Thanks.

I can't find the way to edit filters in Elements 13. I used to be able to change colors, brush stroke length, contrast etc. Am I missing something obvious, or is my version just too cheap to include editing tools?

Hi Guys,

We are building a course for the people with disabilities, I want to use the spacebar as pause and play or I want to add it as a shortcut key on the button. Is there any to make it possible? I'm using Adobe Captivate 2017 version.

I hope there is a solution on the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Quiz end - How does Captivate know what the last question is?

Hi!

I created a course using the Delivery challenge template. When I get to the last question, Captivate doesn't score the quiz and move on to the results. I was wondering where the code is to tell it what the last question is, or how it determines that it needs to do this. Does anyone know?
