I'm creating a Captivate module with multiple learning interactions. The entire module will ultimately be embedded within a PowerPoint slide deck. The learning interactions appear and function correctly when previewing within Captivate, and when published to SCORM cloud. However, once I embed the file in PowerPoint, the slides with the learning interactions do not appear, while the slides without learning interactions appear and fucntion correctly. Any suggestion on how to move forward? I'm publishing an .SWF file.

Text is gone when module opens in Captivate
I'm using Captivate 2017. Everytime I close a Captivate Module and then reopen it later, many items have disappeared such as the title, fill-in-the-blank answers, and text on buttons. I can recover all of these items, slide by slide, by simply selecting everything on the slide and dragging everything a little in any direction. When I drag a little, all of the missing items suddenly appear. Also, I can recover it by clicking each item in the timeline. Also, I can recover everything by copying slides to a newly opened, blank Captivate Project. BUT, these solutions are laborious, and the fix doesn't last. I have to repeat the process everytime I reopen a module. I have to recover the items on both Filmstrip slides and Master slides. Do you know how to correct this problem so I will have stable copies that open correctly?

Captivate 2019 courses will not load in a third party LMS
I am having a problem identical to this one, but NOT on Prime:

I also had no playback bar, I tried adding it and publishing - it didn't help.
I also found the suggestion to add cp.movie.play(); to the index_scorm.html file, and it didn't help either.
I reached out to Adobe online and they rapidly tried to refer me to Creative Suite, then Prime, then gave me a generic support phone number. Finally, someone from Prime support forwarded my e-mail to the Captivate team, but I haven't heard back yet. I'm also contacting our LMS support team, but they haven't gotten back to me either.
While I'm waiting to hear back from them, has anyone else experienced this and found a way to fix it? I keep hoping that I can just add a magic line to the code somewhere to fix it, vs. starting over in 2017, which always worked fine.

Streaming interactive video loading delay
So I have been enjoying working with interactive video but there is one issue I can't seem to solve. When embedding youtube videos, there is the obvious delay in loading the video. The problem is that the project keeps playing in the background so depending on the internet connection speed and device, the timing of the overlay slides will be different. I have tried to anticipate this by delaying the bookmarks for a second or two but this doesn't work because speeds vary. I want to have an overlay slide appear at the correct point regardless of the loading speed of the video. Is there a seamless way to pause the timeline until the video finishes loading? Other creative solutions?

New to Captivate
Hi,
I am new to Captivate and need to get some help.
I have about 15 powerpoints I need to turn into projects just to get started on Captivate Prime, but when they pull in, not all information is showing.
It is the transitions that aren't coming in.
Does anyone know any quick fixes for this so that I don't have to rebuild them all?

Entrance animation blink
Hello everyone!
For my project I use an entrance animation ( EaseInTop). When I go to preview mode 'HTML5 in browser', the element to which I applied the animation appears then disappears and animation starts after that. It looks very weird and I had this issue before. I tried to publish the project and see if it will be smooth and nice after publishing but it still has this blink.
Could you please tell me what can it be.. as it ruins the whole experience.
And the 'Effect Start' is 0 sec, 'Appear after' is 0 sec as well

Captivate Installer is Showing Up Blank
I have been trying to install Adobe Captivate for the past two days. The installer for it keeps showing up blank when I run the setup file. The only thing that has been installed are the "readme" files and not the actual program itself. If I try to right click on the box and close it out to start over the installer window then displays text that reads, "Undefined." I've run group policy updates, I've restarted my computer and nothing has helped. I also tried emailing Adobe and have heard nothing back yet.

Responsive Project Not Rotating on Android
I created a responsive project using fluid boxes in Captivate 2019 version 11.0.1.266. Everything works correctly on an iPhone, but there are 2 issues on Android phones. First, when you rotate the phone from portrait to landscape the project does not rotate. It is stuck in portrait. We checked to make sure the phone settings were correct and that other apps rotated. Second, on the play bar controls the close button is not displaying. Like I said, on iPhones everything rotates correctly and all the play bar buttons display. We are using Cornerstone as our LMS in case anyone has had experience uploading responsive projects to that LMS.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Publishing Captivate 2017 to HTML5
My courses were created in Cp2017 initially publishing as SWF and HTML5. I'm being asked now to only publish as HTML5 and when I do, many of the items are not working correctly - drag and drop not working, widgets not working, states not working correctly-may or maynot show, unable to enter in text entry boxes, feedback flashes on the screen and totally not readable...
Prior to publishing, I checked the HTML5 tracker and nothing was listed. Course worked as designed when SWF was included in the publish.
Will upgrading to Cp2019 fix any of the publishing issues by being the latest version? Or, has anyone encountered these issues and if so, how did you mitigate them?

missing pictures
Hi there,
I have imported a PowerPoint presentation in captivate (version 11.......) and then I have added the quiz at the end. everything worked fine till I decided to export the scorm 1.2 file and during the course I have pictures missing. what can be the problem? If I run the preview in captivate the pictures are there and everything looks perfect, but once I create the scorm file something goes wrong.

How to clear the scolling text widget ?

As I want the answers to be right aligned, I don't use TEB* but the "scrolling text" widget.
But I realize that the learners could write a very long answer in it, so I want to add a button to clear the answer, and didn't manage to do it on the same screen.
Do you have a solution ?

Storyline vs Captivate - preserving learner progress when replacing SCORMs
We use Moodle as our LMS and then Captivate and Storyline equally.
When updates are required with our SCORMS, our experience with Moodle and Captivate has been that we can simply make the updates (typos, images, slide add/remove etc) republish and reupload - and learner progress is retained.
With Storyline and Moodle, we have discovered inconsistent behaviour - after updating the SCORM, the learner may have their progress saved, sometimes they will need to restart. Storyline's official statement, and in discussion with their support engineers is that they're adhering to the industry standard.
"When you update (overwrite) existing course files in your LMS or web server, learners who previously started the course won't be able to resume where they left off. They'll start over at the first slide in the updated course"
From my initial research this appears to be due to how the manifest is handled, and whether identifiers are changed (resulting in the LMS dropping learner progress).
My questions are:
- Is our setup of Captivate SCORMs published into Moodle, and preserving progress, an anomaly?
- Does this forum experience similar issues with content updates with Captivate, or other authoring tools?
- How is this happening exactly - I don't really understand how the manifest and identifiers work, or if it's even due to that.
- Lastly, how can this be prevented - can we force progress to be kept somehow?

Upload Notes and Captions in Bulk?
I like to narrate off of a separate script and not from Notes inside of Captivate. Is there a way to upload a script directly into captivate for the creation of captions? Say for example I have the entire script in a flat file with some sort of symbol to indicate slide number?

Reset the position of an object after an effect has been played
Hi there,
I have an effect on a group of objects. It is a risk meter. When a user clicks on the button "high" there is an advanced action that moves the needed called "grp_Needle_01" to the left. The thing is that if I click a second time the button "high", the needed goes further left, etc.
This behaviour is normal, but how can I make it so when I click on "high" the needed goes back to the 0 position (in the centre) and moves to the left the same way it does when I click the "high" button the first time.
There is an easy option in Storyline that solves this. I was thinking that there should be a way to do that with Advanced actions in Captivate.

Captivate 2017 crashing during preview in edit mode
Hi,
I have several users who are running captivate 2017 on a Windows 10 laptop that exceeds recommended spec and they get the following issue:
when pressing 'play' to preview a project from the edit window (play button in the bottom left), it plays fine up until a certain point in the video. The video then stops and captivate crashes to desktop.
I have tried the following steps:
Renamed SLcache folder and restarted captivate
Updated captivate
Updated windows to include all pending updates (1709)
Updated flash player
Ran as administrator
Ran in compatibility mode (windows 7)
cleared preferences
updated adobe application manager
uninstalled and reinstalled captivate
tried a brand new video demo
Moved project cache to local file from roaming profile
Not a single one of these attempts worked. The program still crashes on projects when they reach a certain point. It is different per project due to varying video length, but it isn't even always reaching 38% of a video before crashing, it varies from project to project.
I am at a loss as to what to do next, can someone please point me in the right direction?

How to prevent default blurring of underlying video?
How do I prevent the default blurring of an underlying video whenever an overlay slide is introduced? Also, the opacity setting for the overlay slide background doesn't seem to work. I'd like to set opacity to 0% and entirely remove the overlay background. And also set the clickable buttons/shapes to 0% opacity so that the user just interacts directly with unblurred video content. Thanks.

Help! Power Point Images and Video
Please help me! I am new to Captivate and I am using Captivate 2017. I am working to turn a power point into elearning. When I uploaded the powerpoint for some reason the pictures on the first slide did not come over. I see them while I'm creating the elearning but when I preview, there are no pictures. That is driving me crazy. I'm pretty sure that I selected high def when importing the power point. Please tell me how to fix it? I have gone back to the power point and tried to move the pictures forward and to the front. It still doesn't show when I preview.
The next question, one of the power point slides had a youtube video embedded. When I imported the slide I could not see the youtube video so I just deleted that slide and figured I would try to link it another way. The video is in my Captivate library. Is there a reason I did not see the video when importing to Captivate? Is there a quick fix?
I would share the project here but I don't see an option.

Keyboard popup on mobile reducing project size
Hi there, I am creating a responsive project in Captivate2019 and am having issues with the native keyboard popping up on the mobile device causing the project to reduce size to fit in the remaining space. This is happening when the user selects a text entry box. I would prefer the keyboard to overlay the project so that it keeps all the proportions. I'm using a Samsung Note8.
If it helps, it's a training package for a mobile app with an interactive test at the end of the modules where the user has to use a simulator to complete tasks on the application. This is where the text entry boxes appear so I need the simulator to continue to fill the Note8 screen even when the keyboard opens.
Any assistance with this would be great, thanks.

Click zone in mobile, vertical format

In the publication of an interactive project, Captivate includes an image, with a size and an interactive area for the start click. If I'm not mistaken, there is a specific hot area to click on the image and I think it is not modifiable.
It is the case that the project visualized in mobile, in vertical format, the image and the hot area are below the visualization and the user would not know what to do.
This can be modified.
