How can a third party (customer) track the result of a captivate project with a quiz (CBT), of all its employees, using an internal server? Note, the third party does not have a captivate account, but they want to instal the project in their servers. Any ideas? Thanks.

How can you keep track of quiz results when you aren't using an LMS
We have a webserver that can give a student credit if they pass or fail a lesson. We don't have a lot of lessons with quizzes. We have some new projects coming up where they want the student's grade on the quiz to be recorded. For example, the student made a 45% out of 100.

Captivate 2019 SCORMS not playing video on iOS (2017 works fine)
Just noticed a major issue. I think others have had this problem but I've seen no solution.
Last year I successfully completed a series of Learning Modules that were deployed on Moodle. They were built in Captivate 2017 and they worked great on iOS. They incorporated a lot of MP4 videos.
This year I was hired to do another series of modules and upgraded to Captivate 2019 and I followed the exact same system to build them. Everything seemed to work just fine but after all of the work was done I realized the videos do not play on iOS devices. Something happened with the 2019 release that made it so videos don't play on iOS devices. Big problem!
Has anyone else had this problem and are there any solutions? My 2017 Modules still work fine so it has to be a 2019 publishing setting.

Create batch export action for publishing multiple formats of same project?
Hello -
I am attempting to find a faster way to publish multiple formats from the same Captivate project. For example, given one project, I would like to publish a Windows executable, SCORM 2004, Moodle, and xAPI packages. Is this function available in Captivate, or would it be possible to write a script external to Captivate that could batch publish these projects?
Any insight is appreciated.

Slide preview issues
Hi Everyone,
I started using captivate only few days ago and I am already losing my mind for a problem with the preview. I have created, just as a test, a very simple PowerPoint presentation and I have imported it into Adobe Captivate 2019. There are No transitions, No animations, nothing at all but when I try to "play slide" in the preview dropdown menu I get the below issue. Can anyone help me, at least, understand what is the problem?

just to be clear, the original powerpoint slide is just a plain slide whit the picture you see above as "background" and that's all.
Does anyone know what could possibly be the probem?

Cannot play Vimeo embedded in Internet Explorer
Hello all,
I am using Vimeo's embed code to place a web-object within Captivate.
- FireFox works fine
- Chrome works fine
- IE does NOT display/play the video at all
- MS Edge works fine
I've tried this through the SCORM Cloud to account for server issues, same result.
I am willing to be there will be a fair amount of people still trying to use IE for these materials.
How can i get a work-around to this?

Error when re-entering course on LMS with html5
We are on the latest version (11.0.1.266) of Captivate 2019. When we exit out of a course and then re-enter through the LMS in Chrome 73.0.3683.86, we get this error and the loading gif just sits there and spins.

Retaking quizzes does not work if click boxes or drag-and-drop interactions are included
I saw a very useful suggestion for a way to reset the quiz so that someone who had passed it could take it again.

This suggestion makes use of the Javascript command cp.resetQuizData(). It works beautifully if you just use standard quiz question formats.
The problem for me is that most of my quizzes questions are either software simulations (using click boxes or text entry boxes) or drag-and-drop interactions, and the Javascipt command does not seem to work for these kinds of interactions. If i include any of these interactions in the quiz, the Javascript reset does not seem to reset those interactions. In fact it is even worse than not resetting them. All those interactions come out with a zero score even if you answer them correctly on the retake. They work correctly the first time you take the quiz.
I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have about how I can manage this!

Prevent imported slides (powerpoint) from advancing when clicking on screen
I imported a group of 60 slides from powerpoint (pptx 2013) into my Captivate 9, however, I've noticed that by doing this, slides advance when I click anywhere on the screen even if I deleted the clickbox that I thought triggered this action. What I did was to disable this action directly in powerpoint and I didn't click "high fidelity" when importing into captivate. Nevertheless, by not clicking "high fidelity", the fonts of some slides get changed, so I need to click it. So, my question is, is there any way in which I can prevent the slides from advancing and having high fidelity clicked at the same time?

CP 9 Quiz remediation
We have a project that has quiz questions after each section that are remediated with a return to the slide with the content that gives the answer for the question they missed. The first part works great. When the student first sees the content there is a playbar. When they are remediated back to a slide the playbar disappears and a button to return to the quiz appears. Then they get to the second part it doesn't work that way. At the first time to the content there is no playbar and the button to return to quiz is there. This shouldn't happen until after they viewed the sections content and they are returned to the slide from the quiz. All the return to quiz buttons have unique names and the slides advanced actions are all the same except for changing the buttons names. The buttons are marked invisible in the properties panel and the AA is what makes them visible. Or at least is should wait until the student returns to the content from the quiz. Below is the example AA.

Course on LMS (Scorm 1.2) closing when links in new window activated - Adobe Captivate 2017
Hi everyone,
I have an issue where I have created several hyperlinks to external URL locations outside of my course, creating in Adobe Captivate 2017. Specifically, I've set each of the hyperlinks for text, buttons, and shapes to have a newwindow target behavior. Everything works fine when I test on the web server.
The main issue is when the course is published to our Learn Flex LMS using SCORM 1.2 When clicking the links to navigate to the external URL locations a new tab is created in Google Chrome or Internet Explorer web browser. Unfortunately, the original tab with the course closes and requires the end-user to open the course again within the LMS.
Is anyone experiencing this issue? Your help would be appreciated.

HTML5 published course bookmark in LMS
After I create a slide presentation course in Captivate, I publish the course using HTML/SWF and send the zip file to our LMS vendor to upload. Right now, they are using the HTML5 file only. I would like users to be able to pick up the slide presentation course where they left off. The LMC can remember to resume the user to the page that holds the slide presentation but it will resume to the beginning and not on the actual slide. Is there a way to set it up inside captivate before exporting that allow a user to resume to the actual slide?

"Failed to Publish" with no supporting information
I just finished a project containing 11 slides, nothing fancy, all Captivate supported formatting and audio. For some reason now I can't preview at all. I can play a single slide in the timeline, but I can't do anything else. I tried outright publishing this project (it needs to be HTML5 to be supported by my LMS) to my computer and get the following:
"Could not copy folder: .../.../.../.../assets"
But when I go to the directory it allegedly is "copying" to I SEE THE ASSETS file. I opened the HTML5 tracker and nothing is listed. I've closed and re-opened captivate, I've restarted my computer. This issue is with ALL of my projects not just this one as I have just checked. I'm honestly at a loss. Is there anything from the Captivate side that I could do that I haven't? I suspect that it is due to a local hardware change, but captivate was being screwing while I was recording audio with the internal tool (freezing, not letting me seek in the edit tab, etc, etc)

Course Tracking and Scoring Outside of a LMS
We are using Captivate 2017. If we do not upload to a LMS, but rather have users access a HTML/SWF or PDF published file from another source such as SharePoint, is there a way to have tracking and have scoring or are these only on the LMS side or best utilized in an LMS? Thank you.

Responsive courses
Hi guys,
I just have a general question about responsive courses in Adobe Captivate. We are looking to build
several e-learning courses designed for ALL devices (or at least as many as possible!)
I have noticed looking at some captivate source code samples that I have downloaded that some of
these templates and obviously there's one version for the desktop, one for a few other mobile devices
(both horizontal and vertical format where the layout is automatically adjusted).
With the one that is vertically aligned, I have also noticed that the layout is squeezed horizontally.
Wouldn't it be better to have a template whereby when it comes to mobile devices, the layout is just a
smaller version the desktop one and just FLIPS if the user just rotates his mobile phone lengthways?
It's just that the layout that we had planned for the e-learning courses in general would not lend
themselves very well to a vertical layout!
Are there any examples out there for downloading?

Captivate 9 Menu Bar missing items
I wanted to show a coworker something in Capivate 9 from the Project menu. His Captivate 9 did not have a Project option on the menu. Anyone else run into this??

Disable next button on playbar
I'm creating an interactive activity where I want the user to select a specific part of the screen, and they can't move forward until they select the correct area of the screen (note, this is not as part of a quiz). While I know that there's a way to hide the playbar all together, is there a way to keep the playbar shown, and disable the "next" button on certain slides?

Course malfunctioning when running all the way through
I built 5 courses, each is about 120-200 slides, most slides are software simulation, a combination of demonstration and training with a few intro slides (title, learning objectives - captions only) and a quiz. There is no branching, no video, no audio. 4 courses were done in Captivate 2017, the last one was done in 2019, but the issues are very similar.
3 courses seem to be working just fine, but the last 2 tend to throw up errors, usually in the second half of the project. The most common errors are:
a) background doesn't load - usually only captions and highlights show up, no background
b) "next" button doesn't work - seems frozen (don't even change on rollover)
None of the problematic slides have any action - not on enter, not on exit, not on the slide. None of the slides are particularly complex, most have a single click box and a caption, so it's not particularly likely that I'm failing to diagnose a major design flaw. For most of those slides, the only thing I've really done to the automatically-generated simulations is edited the captions.
Furthermore, if I re-start the project "from this slide", and set it 1-2 slides prior to the problematic slide, 99% of the time, the slides work just fine. The problem seems to only arise when they are run in a long sequence. In other words, slide #63 doesn't work, but same slide when it's run from the middle of the project, works just fine as #2-3 or 10. So, it almost feels like the project is too long, rather than something is wrong with individual slides? Should I consider breaking my projects up in smaller chunks? If so, what is a good number to target? Nearly all the malfunctions happen at ##60-70-80, so is 50 slides a better, safer project size?
One slide that I was able to zero in on literally had just background and 1 highlight, the whole slide is 1,5 seconds, no video, no audio - highlight would show up, but background wouldn't. I really have no ideas for what I can trouble shoot on it (again, no actions). My only guess is that this slide was a duplicate of another slide. Could that somehow corrupt the background?
Another hypothesis I'm working with is copy-pasting stuff. I've been copying the shells and adding new content to them. I usually delete all but 3-4 slides that are the same in every course. But could that still result in some run-through issues? If so, would copying-pasting slides in a new shell resolve it, or would it copy-paste the issues as well?
I'd appreciate some insight.
